Barriers in adoption of LED Lights

LED Lights have revolutionized the lighting industry since the good old days of Thomas Edison and technical advancements and improvements in manufacturing processes are making it all easy for consumers to adopt the fast growing lighting solution. But as of now there are few constrain or barriers which are keeping the consumers at bay from adopting LED as their primary source of lighting.

Up-front Purchasing Cost:

There are many areas where LED is an attractive economical option such as energy saving led outdoor bulbs or indoor led light bulbs. As far as the outdoor settings are concerned where the maintenance cost is far high than that of indoors so LED is a viable option. But the particular disadvantage in economic terms is the higher purchasing or up-front cost. At this time of financial crises, this can limit the sales of LEDs even when the long-term economic benefits are out setting the higher purchasing cost. The continuous drop in the prices of LED Lights by 15%-25% a year can induce the consumers to opt for LEDs in near future.

State of Awareness:

The early adopters of LEDs should be the major governments and multinational corporations, but still there is a great variation between the level of awareness of lighting managers from being alert to the existing situation of LED technology, and energy saving as a concern to being able to comprehend to proceed in procuring well-designed LED Lights. As the led technology is changing very rapidly therefore keeping up to date can be a daunting task. Manufacturers such as indoor led tube lights manufacturer can also play a critical part in creating awareness among the consumers.

If the above mentioned hurdles are eliminated then LED Lights can unquestionably be the consumers’ priority.
